When it is slowly oxidized in air, it turns out to be phosphoric acid. When it is heated to 180℃, It decomposes to be phosphoric acid and phosphine (extremely toxic). Phosphite is a binary acid, its acidity is slightly stronger than that of phosphate. It has strong reducibility, It can easily reduce Ag ions to silver and reduce sulfuric acid to sulfur dioxide. It has a strong hygroscopicity and deliquescence and it is corrosive.
